no more…than + 从句
He is no more your friend than I am your mother.
He is no more a god than we are.
You are no more a vampire than I am.
A whale is no more a fish than a horse is.
He is no more fit to be a minister than a school boy would be.
no more than 和 not more than
not more than + 数词(或名词) 与 no more than + 数词(或名词) 这两个短语在意义上 口气上的区别。
You use no more than or not more than when you want to emphasize how small a number or amount is.
Each box requires no more than a few hours of labor to build.
He was so poor that he had no more than one hundred dollars.
He was a kid really, not more than eighteen or nineteen.
Choose no/not more than three options. = choose three options or fewer
Most of the images on the website are not more than eye candy.
There are beautiful mountains not more than ten minutes’ drive away.
They were no more than survivals from the past.
The moon still hung in the sky but was no more now than a white stain.
这里补充说明, nothing more than 具有与 no more than 相同的语气, 亦可译为 ‘仅仅’ ‘只不过’等. 例如:
