As most of you already know, Akihabara is famous for its abundance of maid cafes. A short while ago, I had the chance to experience one, but not as a customer. For one day, I decided to train as a maid—just to see what it was like to be in their shoes for a shift1. I got permission to do this at At Home Maid Café, one of the largest in Akihabara. Joining me once again in these shenanigans was Miss Shibuya Kahoe. We dressed up as maids together and had the experienced head maid, Mizuki-tan, showing us the ropes and teaching us how to be proper maids. Let me show you how that went.
But before we get into that, I need to thank today’s sponsor, Gamer Supps. Right now, they’re running a sample promotion where you can try out a sample pack of Gamer Supps for free. No matter where you are in the world, if you use my link at gamersupps.gg and enter code “MARICHU,” you can check out with a free sample pack and an automatic discount of 10%. If something else catches your eye, the free sample promotion will be available for 24 hours, but my code will still give you 10% off even after that. Gamer Supps has zero sugar, making it keto-friendly, and they offer caffeine-free options if you want the taste without the energy. I think they also taste pretty great—my current favorite flavors are Guacamole Gamer Fart 9000 and Blowhole Blast. Somehow, the most delicious flavors have the most creative names. They’ve just kicked off season four of their Waifu Cups, and if you missed my cup from last year, I might be coming out with a second design, perhaps with improved art. I don’t know—you’ll find out. Huge thanks to Gamer Supps for working with me again and sponsoring this video. Now, let’s head back to the maid café!
How long have you been working at At Home Maid Café?
How long do maids usually have to train for before they become full-fledged maids?
We’re like the level one peasant gear. They have your sort of Pokémon.
Yeah, from the maids I’ve seen in anime, they all have different personalities. Do maids adopt different personalities to cater to different customers?
What kind of personality have you adopted?
Because of my height, I feel like I would adopt a bully maid persona.
Okay, so just to clarify, I am five foot six, which is around 167 centimeters. I know that’s not very tall, but I’m mentioning this because the height difference is really noticeable between the three of us. Mizuki and Kahoe are both around four foot eleven, so yes, they kind of make me look like a JoJo character. Throughout this video, I look like an absolute unit.
Unit: A single thing, person, or group that is complete by itself but can also form part of something larger. E.g.,
“The cell is the unit of which all living organisms are composed.”
I look like the bouncer maid you bring out when a customer starts getting weird. So, to answer the question I know we’ll be asked: I am five foot six.
Please teach us how to be good maids.
First of all, we need to ask her how to tie a ribbon.
Oh wow, it looks different. Big ribbon like Hello Kitty. That is 14 years of experience under her belt.
Thank you.
In summer or Jose—hell yeah, we’re getting the hang of it!
What’s up, boys?
Congratulations!
I have a letter!
Oh my God!
I was so nervous. You’re such a good maid!
We bring forth to you water that comes from the Moe Spring underneath this café.
Oh my God. I was so parched, and just a little sip has brought me back. It’s like a movie recharge!
This is the perfect temperature.
Oh, I like cats. It’s so cute!
This is so good.
Morning with a minute. I feel the most—wow, that is a good song.
Well, the quality of this rice—actually, though, right?
Really? Oh, cool, it’s good. It looks cute and makes my stomach feel cute. Yay!
Thank you.
It’s so small and cute, like the perfect dessert amount.
Oh, Joe-sama, we have dessert for you!
Three layers—whoa. Smells so good. Wow!
It tastes so magical, like actual Chloe magic.
Like childhood!
Yay! Announcing Miss Maylene to the stage. Please, for the Chucky time!
Mickey Mouse!
Okay, did we do okay for our first day of training?
Big thank you again to At Home Café for allowing me to film in their establishment and to Kahoe for setting it all up. I had a really fun time. Links to both At Home Café’s website and Mizuki-tan’s Instagram will be in the description below. I would definitely love to do something like this again and improve my maid skills because it takes a surprising amount of energy and performance skills to do this all day. I was really impressed with how good Mizuki-tan was, especially since she makes it look so natural for her. If you’re interested in seeing more stuff like this, please let me know. If not, also let me know—I genuinely would love to hear your thoughts, as IRL stuff is still very new to me. If you made it this far, thanks so much for watching!
