So, Taylor Swift just released a new album.>> The Taylor Swift album sounded like, “Yeah, I have now.” And I cuss a little, too, B. >> It’s about her terrible, horrible life, as a showgirl. You guys wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised, her. She also makes some scathing disses, mentions some shockingly not, safe for work topics, and totally misinterprets the plot of Hamlet, as a, showgirl does. I’m not really a Taylor Swift fan. I don’t love her. I don’t, hate her either, but people’s reactions to this new album have been making the, rounds on social media, and some of it is pretty hilarious.>> I am a dark and twisted poet. The corners of my mind, you’ll never know, it. >> Everyone on the internet is mean. There’s too many bad trolls and memes. >> The album is supposed to be bad as a, satire of commercial music in the postcoid 2020s.>> Grab your swords and grab your knives. Oh, she’s canled. Bet we’re tight. Oh, yeah, I like my [laughter] friends cancel. I’ve been cracking up at the.

content that I’ve been seeing online. People are absolutely roasting her and, some of it is just so funny and too good not to share.

roast: [T] ~ sb(informal or humorous) to be very angry with sb; to criticize sb strongly (对某人)非常生气,严厉批评

Even diehard fans of, Taylor Swift are totally ripping on this album.

So, we’re just going to dive in, and read some of the snippets from these lyrics. Here we go.[music] >> Jail immediately. She’s totally right. She does not sound savage at all.>> Don’t you know I’m a savage? >> Not really. No.>> I honestly cannot believe that these lyrics are real. Like, you’re telling me, Taylor Swift actually sat down and wrote these lyrics and they were not supposed, to be funny, but they’re not. They’re real. And I can’t lie, I get legitimate, secondhand embarrassment reading that line. She says, “I’m not [singing] a bad, and this isn’t.” It hurts. But I’m not [music] a bad, and this isn’t. [singing] >> The problem is Taylor Swift is the, opposite of dangerous. She is the epitome of family friendly marketable.

cookie cutter pop. So this new contrast is unfortunately pure cringe. The whole, thing feels like satire. That’s how bad it is.>> Everybody’s so punk [music] on the internet. Everyone’s not [laughter], serious. >> This is her new song called Cancelled.>> [music] >> Wow, so edgy and dark. She’s almost as dangerous as Jojo Siwa.>> I guess Taylor and her fiancé Travis have been dragged online a lot for, hanging out with some MAGA people, but I think this song is mostly referencing, her former best friend Blake Lively, who was at the very center of all of the It, Ends With Us drama. Grab your friends, wear your florals. Taylor says, “Good, thing I like my friends. cancelled. [singing], I like them [music] cooked in Gucci and in scandals. That’s cute.>> So, she likes her friends ultra rich, willing to sabotage other people’s, movies and start media scandals while dressing like this. Yeah. Okay.>> Guess I’m best friends with the devil cuz Blake Lightly said one thing one.

time. Come on. >> This song sounds like it was written in, a marketing meeting. She goes, “Did your girl boss too close to the sun?”, >> Did your girl [music] boss too close to the sun? [laughter], >> Someone says, “This is music for cop wives.

Police wives and law enforcement families find community, crisis support, and mental health resources through dedicated national and local non-profit organizations.

I’m dead.” They’re right.Honestly, the whole album is littered with unnecessary curse words that just, stick out like a sore thumb.

: to be very noticeable in usually a bad way扎眼;招眼
I wasn’t wearing the right clothes for the party, and I stuck out like a sore thumb.
我那天穿的衣服不适合聚会,看起来很扎眼。

because my bigger spring break that was, [music] lit and the heart [singing] [music] was telling me to back off.>> It doesn’t really add anything to the music. If anything, it detracts and, makes the song sound even sillier than they already are. Okay, she might know, how to say the f word, but it does not come off of her tongue easily. It’s like, she’s trying to prove that she knows the lingo, but she has none of the actual, experience or the culture where these words and phrases come from. No, she, wrote the lyric, “My busy has RZ” to call out how ridiculous Jenz slang is.

Riz lit 67. Yeah, that describes me. >> I guess we’re just too bad. No cap. It, sounds like a corporate ad using Gen Z slang. Like she’s trying to be, rebellious while her entire musical DNA is relatability. Guys, this is Taylor, Swift. She is the Wonderbread of the music industry. Someone says Taylor, Swift makes music for girls who do doggy like this.>> [laughter] >> Welcome to [music] my underworld where, it gets quite dark. >> Welcome to my twisted mind.>> Why so serious? >> Someone says this is the Anthem of, Republican congresswoman. It’s funny because Taylor Swift is a mega celebrity, who has never wanted for anything. Completely sheltered from the woes of, average existence. And she’s trying to be edgy.

(of a film/movie, book, piece of music, etc. 电影、书籍、乐曲等) having a sharp exciting quality
a clever, edgy film

I’ve never experienced an album, that screams I am an outofouch billionaire so loudly. This is pasta, salad dressed up in lingerie. But don’t go anywhere, dear viewer, because it’s, about to get much worse. This next song is called Wood, and yes, it means, exactly what you think it does.

So, he traumatized me, but instead of tra, she puts ah like a sexy moan.Pretty clever. Pretty sexy. Like, I want you back, but horny. And I get it.Everyone is doing these hypersexualized, campy lyrics right now.

campy comes from camp, which describes a style that is deliberately exaggerated, theatrical, flashy, dramatic, and often playfully over-the-top.

camp: exaggerated in style, especially in a deliberately amusing way 夸张的,滑稽可笑的(尤指故意逗笑);做作的
The movie is a camp celebration of the fashion industry.
这部电影夸张地颂扬时装行业。

I’m not a big, fan of it, but it works obviously because sells. Sabrina Carpenter is, definitely doing a lot of it. [music] >> I mean, camaraderie.>> So, I guess Taylor Swift is taking a page out of Sabrina’s book when she says, this lyric. [music], >> It’s so forced. I don’t like it when either of them do it. It just gives me, the ick. Maybe it’s because Taylor Swift is the same person who sings Shake It, Off and is the epitome of bland, boring mayonnaise music where the only reason, that you can remember the melody so clearly is because it stays on the tonic,

tonick: [C] (music 音乐) the first note of a scale of eight notes 主音(自然音阶中的第一音)

the entire time. Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods and I’ll, write your name? I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the backseat of.

his car. We were both young when I first saw you. I got smarter. I got harder in, the nick of time. So when I hear her talking about getting wet, it almost, feels like Miss Frile trying to be sexy. It’s like she’s cosplaying this LWD, personality, but it doesn’t fit [snorts] with her vibe at all and it’s not sexy.At least not for me. I don’t know. Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. So,if you are a man watching this in the comments or anyone actually, just let me, know. Is this hot for you? [music], >> Oops. Now I’m all wet. [laughter] >> Oh my god, people online are so funny.Let’s not forget little girls are going to be singing this. She says, “Redwood, tree, it ain’t hard to see. His love was the key that opened my thighs.”, >> Girl, I did not need that image burned into my brain. That is insane.>> Melody wise, it’s pretty basic. Once again, we are going down the F major, scale, right back to the one. Super simple stuff. If it wasn’t for the.

diabolical lyrics, it would be a perfect nursery rhyme. I guess there’s just a, really delicate line between actually pulling something like this off or just, face planting and looking ridiculous. And Taylor Swift is definitely looking, like the second option right now. Okay, so we have one song about her, boyfriend’s, another song of her being a super edge lord because she got booed at,

[I, T] to show that you do not like a person, performance, idea, etc. by shouting ‘boo’ 发嘘声;喝倒彩
The audience booed as she started her speech.
她一开始讲话,听众便发出一阵嘘声。

the Super Bowl. What else? Let’s see. She has a song that sounds exactly like, the pixie Where is my mind? They’re in the same key and everything. I actually, put both intros on top of each other so you can see exactly what I’m talking, about. Listen to this. There’s a lot of songs on her new album that people have pointed out sound, exactly like other songs. But guys, that’s not the biggest deal in the, world. It’s pretty common nowadays in pop music. Taylor being the pop giant, that she is, uses simple four chord progressions that repeat themselves. That’s pop for you. And when [music] you’re working with the same recycled.

flavorless slop, you’re bound to end up with songs that blur together and, [music] sound the same. I’m not mad about it. It is what it is. The people, like garbage. What can I say? They eat it up.>> I like gobbled it up. >> You got to give the people what they, like. Anyways, this song is called Actually Romantic. And apparently it’s, about Charlie XEX. I don’t know, guys. It’s this long drama between them.Apparently, one of them dated the other one’s ex or something like that. Who, really cares? Anyways, Charlie wrote a song that many speculated to be about, Taylor. my, real. >> So, here we have the response to that song.>> Um, >> poor Charlie. I would be so mad if, someone made a song about me accusing me of that. Charlie wasn’t even that mean, to Taylor in the song that she wrote, but Taylor just went in as a response, and referenced a really sensitive topic just being a total hater.>> You’re really successful and it makes me insecure. You do. You do. How can you.

think about me? You’re obsessed with me, loser.>> So again, we’re just literally walking down the major scale like we did in the, other song. He goes, I heard you call me boring Barbie when the cokes got you, brave. Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see. His love was the key that opened my, thighs or my eyes or whatever. It’s the same thing. I’m just saying. It’s just a, little ironic because in today’s landscape with songs that can be, generated in 5 seconds with your team of five gazillion people, how can you, possibly run out of ideas? A lot of people are saying that AI is better than, this album and they might actually be right. It was so funny when I saw this, meme because I hate these ads that I always get of this horrible AI music, that talks about mental health problems. They are my nightmare fuel. I absolutely, detest them and I thought I was the only one that felt like these ads were, harassing me, but apparently not because a lot of people say that Taylor’s music, sounds exactly like it.[music].

Do you hear it? Oh my god, they actually sound the same. Maybe it’s because, Taylor Swift is the algorithm that all AI slot pop is trained on. So that, actually makes a lot of sense. Getting compared to AI music is the ultimate, insult nowadays. But some of these lyrics are so bad that I bet I could, paste them into suno or yudio and it would spit me out some lyrics that were, more palatable. Or at least they wouldn’t be as skin crawling cringe as, some of these songs. Every [music] eldest daughter.>> No words. [music], >> This stinks. One of my favorite YouTubers, Meet Canyon, did a skit like, a year ago where he did an impression of Taylor Swift’s music. [music], [music] >> And then Taylor Swift literally went and, wrote the exact same song. [music], >> It’s insane. Meet Canyon must be psychic or Taylor saw the video and got inspired, because how did he know? Anyways, congrats to anyone who is just now, seeing Taylor Swift for what she really is. Pure millennial cringe core. But.

really, she’s always been like that. You’re just seeing it recognized for the, first time. Remember, this is the same person who is supposed to be a lyrical, genius, but has seven songs rhyming car with bar. And don’t even get me started, on the album artwork. >> I’m a show girl. Stage lights on. And, when Travy comes to play, I’m gonna say, “Hey, I’ll put on a show cuz I’m your, girl.” >> That reel was actually made weeks before, the album came out, and it’s hilarious because that girl nailed it perfectly. These are the actual lyrics Taylor wrote. I’m married to the hustle and now, I know the life of a showgirl. Babe,I’m dying from cringe. Someone says, “This is the musical equivalent of that, Australian lady who can’t break dance. >> [music], >> It’s just too much. How is this not supposed to be ironic? Is it possible, that this entire creation is just a big marketing scheme? Because everyone is, talking about it right now. Maybe the cringe isn’t a mistake at all. Maybe.

it’s part of her plan. People who love her, people who hate her, people who, claim not to care, all of them are giving her exactly what she wants. She’s, dominating every corner of the internet right now. And whether you think this is, genius or delusional, it’s definitely working. The album sold 2.7 million, copies in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest day one debut in her entire, career. Taylor Swift has always been good at selling a story. And right now,it feels like she’s selling the discourse itself. Today, society thrives, on negativity and reaction. And maybe Taylor sensed that and decided, you know, what? I’m just going to go fullon ragebait. Then she made something so, painfully tryhard that everyone had to react. And by doing that, she won.Taylor Swift is not the victim of the internet. She’s the apex predator. We, think we’re laughing at her, but she’s laughing way harder. And honestly, I, keep wondering, what does Travis think about all of this? There are lyrics that.

describe him so vividly that I wish I could erase them from my brain, but I, can’t. I wish I was a fly on the wall for that conversation. Honey, I’m going, to talk about your in my next song. What do you think? Did they talk about it?Did they get excited about that sort of thing? Or is this just another level to, her rage bait? >> Taylor Swift’s newest album is a, thoughtful and poignant meditation on what it’s like to lose one’s virginity, late in life. Taylor paints a vivid picture of being slowly and relentlessly, pursued by a giant male before being absolutely hogged down.>> But she probably knows how absolutely insane this all is. After all, she wrote, 1989. I think she knows what she’s doing. At the end of the day, this is a, billionaire, guys. She’s not like you or me. Taylor Swift takes a private jet to, brunch. We peeons will never know what’s actually real or what’s just a scheduled, performance because we only see exactly what they want us to see. And you know.

what? It’s great entertainment. Musically, I would say that some of the, songs are pretty catchy. I mean, how can it not be catchy when half of it is, literally just walking down the major scale? But I have to give it to her. Her, music isn’t terrible. It’s catchy and well produced and she’s not a bad singer, and there’s a reason why so many people love her and idolize her and blah blah, blah blah blah. But in the end, whatever the motive is, I have to agree with the, majority here that this album is a total cringefest. Apparently, some people, really love it and think it’s just as good as 1989.>> You don’t understand. It’s because she’s a billionaire that her life is so hard.>> So, what do you think? Is Taylor Swift’s new album actually genius and you love, it? Is she a lyrical mastermind for this? [music], >> Girl, shut the up. You thought you ate. [laughter], >> Let me know what you think in the comments. And in the meantime,>> people are like, “Taylor Swift is a master poet.” And then she writes the.

I wrote in the corner of my homework when I was 11 and sad.
