For years, we’ve known that the Tsaritsa has been collecting all seven Gnoses. But we never knew exactly what she planned to do with them. Now we’re finally getting the answer.During the 7.1 livestream, the developers reveal that we’re finally going to learn, why the Tsaritsa has been collecting the Gnoses. They explain that part of, her plan is to amplify her own power so she has enough strength to oppose, the Heavenly Principles. Since the Gnoses are the remains of the Third Descender, this means the Tsaritsa is basically trying to use power that originally came from outside of Teyvat. But apparently, that’s not the only reason she’s been collecting them. The livestream reveals that somewhere inside Zapolyarny Palace is a secret, place that only the Tsaritsa and a few members of her inner circle know about.Inside this place is what they call the final seal left behind by the Third Descender. And the Gnoses are the only things that can make this seal react.
The implication is that once all seven Gnoses are gathered together, this final seal can finally be broken. So the Gnoses are apparently keys for this seal? The Tsaritsa wants to use the power inside the Gnoses to strengthen herself, but she also needs them to unlock something that the Third Descender personally sealed away.
Sealed away means to be completely enclosed, hidden, or isolated from the outside world, often permanently or with a secure barrier.
And the trailer gives us an even more important clue about what is behind that seal.“Once the remains of the Third Descender are no longer scattered across the world, only then, we may behold the legacy he sealed away.”, That “legacy” could be a weapon. It could be some kind of power. It could contain his memories. It, could even contain a part of his consciousness. We don’t know yet. We’ve said this before in a, previous video, but it seems we need the power of a Descender to defeat another Descender.Reminder, the Third Descender was a man named Saarelainen. And he was killed by the Heavenly.
Principles (the First Descender), and his remains were later used to create, the Seven Gnoses. So even though we now know the Gnoses are needed to unlock this legacy, that he supposedly sealed away, I don’t think we have to completely rule out resurrection either.

The Tsaritsa is literally collecting the scattered pieces of his remains,so bringing the Third Descender back to life could still be part of her plan.We just don’t have enough evidence to say that for sure yet so it’s STILL a theory. But what we do know is that the Third Descender left something behind that, apparently matters enough for the Tsaritsa to spend centuries collecting every piece, of him. And right now, she can’t finish that plan.Because the Pyro Gnosis is still missing. Without the Pyro Gnosis, breaking the final seal is still out of reach. The Pyro Gnosis was used to burn down the corrupted, Irminsul at the end of Song of the Welkin Moon, and afterward, it disappeared without a trace.
And that is not the only problem Snezhnaya is dealing with. There is also Project Mistilteinn.Project Mistilteinn is Snezhnaya’s plan to develop, the power and technology they need to oppose the Heavenly Principles. But right now, the project has been indefinitely paused because of Ronova. Her Authority of Death prevents Snezhnaya from advancing its technology any further. But according to the livestream, if Snezhnaya wants to avoid suffering, the same fate as Khaenri’ah, their research has to continue. But whenever their research reaches a major breakthrough that crosses the limits Ronova, has imposed, her Curse of Death activates, temporarily killing the researchers involved. So as long as Ronova is around,Snezhnaya can’t safely make the progress it needs to finish Project Mistilteinn.Ronova is currently Snezhnaya’s biggest obstacle. And because, of that, the entire nation is preparing to fight against her.
The livestream says the plan to fight Ronova will involve the Fatui Harbingers, Snezhnayan allies, other outside allies, and even Vesna’s mysterious, power as a Vila all culminating in the massive fight we see in the trailer. And if Ronova is willing to go this far to stop them, then this fight is about, to get a lot more dangerous. Ronova says something scary in the trailer… she says:“Now… I can kill without further consequence.”, At the same time, we see her drawing power from what appears to be a Celestial Nail. And the Tsaritsa reveals that Snezhnaya has lived under the constant threat of being, destroyed by a “Nail of Retribution.” Basically, if Snezhnaya goes too far,Celestia has a Celestial Nail ready to wipe the nation out.Celestial Nails have a complicated purpose. We know they can be used to cleanse and suppress, Abyssal corruption, basically stabilizing parts of Teyvat. But they have also been, used as weapons of destruction and punishment in the case of Hyperborea.
When these Nails fall, they can completely destroy the civilizations underneath them, and permanently change the land. We’ve seen the effects of them in, places like Dragonspine, the Chasm, and the Sumeru desert. And this is especially interesting because in The Gods’ Limits teaser,we actually seem to see one Celestial Nail still remaining in Celestia. That could potentially be the same Nail of Retribution that has been waiting over, Snezhnaya this entire time. And maybe that is the Nail Ronova is drawing power from in the trailer.Until now, Ronova has never seemed completely free to do whatever she wants. In The Gods’ Limits Teaser, Ronova specifically says that without a direct order from the, Heavenly Principles, she can only interfere “to the extent permitted by the rules.”, So even the Ruler of Death has limits. But now she suddenly says that she can kill without “further consequence”.One possibility is that absorbing the power of the Nail gives Ronova unrestricted use of her power.
Or maybe Snezhnaya has finally crossed a line that gives Ronova permission to stop holding back.I mean, Snezhnaya is literally building a massive weapon designed to fight and potentially kill the, Heavenly Principles or Celestial gods. So makes sense why Ronova would go all out.Either way, it could explain why this fight is so much more dangerous than anything we saw in, Version 7.0. And why people are um.. ending up dead in the trailer. Even Dainsleif is down.Okay so naturally of course I was freaking out because DAINSLEIF is showing up, but this is, aura loss like GET UP PLEASE. Trust, he’s gonna deal the final blow to Ronova I just know it.

She received a severe blow on the head.
她头上挨了重重的一击。
He was knocked out by a single blow to the head.
他头上只被打了一下便昏过去了。

But if anyone really wants any chance of surviving Ronova,I think Vesna might be one of the most important pieces of the entire plan.In the trailer, Vesna says:“If we gather enough of these Seals of Life, we might truly be able to defy death after all.”, Then she says:“When that lady gave this power to my ancestors,
perhaps the contract she made was for this purpose.”, Vesna’s Vila heritage gives her a mysterious power, and she’s offering that power to help with the plan against Ronova. And if Ronova controls death, then the basic idea behind Snezhnaya’s strategy may actually be very simple.Life is technically the opposite of Death. If enough Seals of Life can allow people, to “defy death,” then this could be the loophole Snezhnaya has been searching for.Ronova can kill them. But what happens if they can keep coming back to life? That possibility becomes even more interesting when we look, at Rhinedottir and Naberius, the literal Ruler of Life.Rhinedottir says “In all this time I’ve had no great ambition to recover my stolen morsel.”, Then she says: “But if it were used to extract life,or even defy death, it would be a grave transgression.”, And later, at the very end of the trailer, she says:“It seems I’ll have to reclaim what is mine. Care to stop me, Cryo Archon?”.
Rhinedottir, who’s now merged with Naberius, the Ruler of Life, has personally come to Snezhnaya to meet with the Tsaritsa, because apparently Snezhnaya is using something that she thinks belongs to her.Rhinedottir calls it her “stolen morsel.”, And I think there’s a strong possibility that the power Vesna is using for these, “Seals of Life” is somehow connected to the Ruler of Life, more specifically Naberius.Vesna says that her family inherited a mysterious power that might allow them to defy death. There’s also the way Vesna’s power looks. When she uses it, these strange golden strands appear, that almost look like DNA, something we’ve seen associated with Rhinedottir-Naberius.But there is one detail that makes this more complicated.Vesna says that “that lady” gave this power to her ancestors.Meanwhile, Rhinedottir says that whatever is being used was stolen from her.So if Rhinedottir willingly gave this power to Vesna’s ancestors, why would she now call it stolen?
And that makes me wonder if “that lady” was never Rhinedottir in the first place.Maybe it was Naberius, the original Ruler of Life before Rhinedottir, merged with her. It’s possible that Naberius made some kind of contract, with Vesna’s ancestors and gave the Vila access to a piece of her power.Another possibility is that someone stole a piece of the Ruler of Life’s power first, and that power was later passed down through Vesna’s family.Rhinedottir may not actually care that Snezhnaya is rebelling against, the Heavenly Principles. And her real problem might be that they’re using, something connected to her authority over Life. Without her permission. So back to that massive fight against Ronova in the end, maybe everyone already knows they can’t beat Ronova in a normal fight. The first phase could be forcing her to use her Authority of Death, while the second phase uses Vesna’s Seals of Life to undo it and bring everyone back to life.
Genshin loves mixing Story Quest scenes into Archon Quest footage in version trailers to, misdirect us, so this is just a guess. I wonder if it’s going to be like Nod-Krai, where Flins’ and Lauma’s Story Quests were incorporated into the main story. All this means the Tsaritsa has basically spent centuries preparing a rebellion while, knowing that Celestia has their own weapon pointed directly at her nation. And that makes the comparison to Khaenri’ah even more sad.Pierro already watched one civilization challenge the, Heavenly Principles. He watched Khaenri’ah fall. And now he is watching Snezhnaya heading towards a similar path.Which brings us to Pierro himself. His role in this story seems incredibly personal. Pierro, is a survivor of Khaenri’ah finally confronting the being responsible for, one of the curses placed on his people five hundred years ago.

This is revenge. And that makes Dainsleif’s appearance here even more awesome. Y’all know.
HOW MUCH I love this man, and how excited I am for this massive Khaenri’ah family reunion. Remember,ALL KHAENRI’AHNS DESCENDED FROM THE TSARITSA. Hoping Kaeya’s, Albedo’s,and Capitano’s invites didn’t get lost in the mail though…So seeing Pierro and Dainsleif both fighting Ronova together as a 1.x player is huge for me,and I’m sure it is for all of you no matter what version you joined. And Version 7.1 also seems like it may finally reveal more about Pierro’s life, before the Cataclysm. Pierro pulled Paimon down from Celestia. He also, witnessed the Traveler’s Sibling become the Prince or Princess of Khaenri’ah.At one point in the 7.1 Trailer, Pierro says:“If everyone agrees to remove the seal,a truth laid buried for five hundred years will come to light.”, And during this scene, he takes out a photo of himself when he was younger, standing next to an unknown Khaenri’ahn man with long, luscious purple hair. There is a very strong possibility that this man is Hroptatyr,
“The Wise,” one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah.The unknown man appears to have these charms that resemble the chess piece, associated with Hroptatyr, back in the Luna 4 Archon Quests. And we already know that Pierro and Hroptatyr had a very important, relationship and they have A LOT of history, stretching as far back as Version 1.5.At the end of the Act 2 Snezhnaya Archon Quest, Pierro says that back in Khaenri’ah,he was entirely focused on his struggle against Hroptatyr. And this rivalry may have actually been foreshadowed years ago.Pierro’s Pale Flame artifact lore says that he couldn’t match the knowledge of, “the sages,” and because of that, he failed to earn the favor of Khaenri’ah’s previous ruler. But in the original Chinese, this refers to a singular “Sage,” which is the same title used for Hroptatyr. So Pierro may have been talking about Hroptatyr all the way back in Version 1.5.
And if that really is Hroptatyr in the photo, then there’s another theory that might be true too.We might already know Pierro’s actual name.Back in Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IV, Rhinedottir mentioned someone named Eftirvit,or “Vit,” who served as Vice-President of the Universitas Magistrorum. This man was apparently extremely jealous, of Hroptatyr because Hroptatyr became president instead of him.Which sounds very suspicious when we already know Pierro had a major, struggle against Hroptatyr and failed to match “The Sage.”, So Eftirvit might be Pierro’s real name before he joined the Fatui.“Eftirvit” might have come from Old Norse words meaning “after” and “wit” or “intelligence. Put, together, it gives us the idea of “after-wit”. Basically wisdom that comes too late.Realizing what should have been done only after it is already too late to fix things. That’s extremely fitting for Pierro. He was someone who recognized the danger facing.
Khaenri’ah, but couldn’t convince the king nor Hroptatyr to stop before it was too late. And then later, he becomes Pierro, “The Jester.”, All of the Fatui Harbingers are named after characters from the Commedia dell’Arte, and Pierro is essentially “The Fool.”, Hroptatyr is “The Wise.” Pierro is “The Fool.”, So if we’re talking about Pierro and Hroptatyr competing for influence in Khaenri’ah,then the next person we have to talk about is the king they were both serving: King Irmin. The very beginning of the trailer also has one of the weirdest lines in the entire livestream. The Tsaritsa looks at the chessboard and says:“The black king has not moved at all. He remains seated on his throne. Is, it indifference or arrogance behind his inaction?”, I think there are two main possibilities for who this “Black King” could be:the Heavenly Principles, or King Irmin of Khaenri’ah.First, let’s talk about the Heavenly Principles. The Tsaritsa has spent.
centuries preparing Snezhnaya to rebel against Celestia. She built the Fatui, collected the Gnoses, developed Project Mistilteinn, and continued pushing closer, and closer to the limits set by the Heavenly Principles. The Hydro Archon Focalors even, destroyed the Hydro Throne, and didn’t get a reaction out of the Heavenly Principles. They still haven’t personally done anything. But there is another interpretation that might be more straightforward. The “Black King” could actually be King Irmin. In Chinese, King Irmin’s title is literally “Black King.” The, English version usually translates this title as the “Vinster King.”, What we call the Eclipse Dynasty in, English is literally called the “Black Sun Dynasty” in Chinese. And if the Tsaritsa is really talking about King Irmin, this line becomes MUCH stranger. The Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined tells us about Dainsleif gathering some, of Khaenri’ah’s most important people to save his brother and stop what was happening to the.
Traveler’s Sibling. King Irmin used the Sibling as a vessel to absorb unlimited Abyssal power, which ultimately made them a key part of the Cataclysm. And while describing the chaos that followed, the story specifically uses the word “regicide”, the act of killing a king.It never directly tells us who killed the king,so we can’t 100% say Dainsleif personally killed Irmin just yet. But it’s a possible theory. How can the Black King still be sitting on his, throne if Irmin was supposedly killed five hundred years ago?Maybe he was never truly killed. Maybe his body died, but his consciousness survived?Maybe he is sealed or trapped somewhere and physically unable to leave his throne? The chess piece could also represent his power, his will,or something he left behind that has continued to affect the world for five hundred years. And there’s one more line from the Tsaritsa that, adds even more fuel to a theory we’ve talked about a lot before. She says:
“Our love… was spoiled long ago by the Heavenly Principles.”, Of course, this immediately brings us back to, the theory that the Third Descender may have been the Tsaritsa’s lover. We already have Hymns of the Far North, which tells us about the Third Descender,Saarelainen, traveling to court a woman he wanted to marry before he was eventually, killed. And now we know the Tsaritsa has spent centuries collecting the Gnoses, the remains of the Third Descender, while his final legacy is hidden beneath her palace. So this new line definitely makes that theory even more interesting. But for now, it is still just a theory. “Our love” could be referring to the Third Descender, the Cryo Archon’s ideal of love, the motherly love she had for her child, or something else entirely. There is also something really weird about the Third Descender, scene that immediately made me think of Childe. While the Tsaritsa is talking about gathering the Third Descender’s remains and unlocking his.
hidden legacy, she is looking into this strange crystal filled with what looks like a galaxy. It looks kind of like the All-Devouring Narwhal right? Specifically its tail?Childe’s real name is Ajax. His father named him after, an ancient Snezhnayan hero with the same name. And the stories about that original Ajax are suspiciously similar to what we now know about, Saarelainen, who is heavily implied to be the Third Descender. Because of those similarities,Ajax and Saarelainen might actually be the same person. And whales are a reoccurring theme in Ajax’s story. The ancient hero Ajax supposedly sailed into the belly of a giant whale.Meanwhile, Childe’s constellation is literally a Narwhal. He encountered, the All-Devouring Narwhal after falling into the Abyss as a child, and then years later fought that same creature again in Fontaine. So now we potentially have imagery connected to a, Narwhal appearing while the game is talking about the Third Descender.
Especially because Genshin has already told us that names can, be connected to Fate. Durin’s story explains that someone who, inherits another person’s name can also inherit parts of their fate.So if the ancient Ajax really was Saarelainen, the Third Descender, then Childe was literally named after the Third Descender.I don’t think that means Childe secretly IS the Third Descender, however. Even so, I won’t rule out that possibility. But it could mean Childe is being set up to follow a similar path. Especially when, before Aaru, constellations and names could determine a character’s fate.Even now, I still don’t think we should ignore the connection between Childe and the Third Descender. If I had to predict what will happen in the upcoming Archon Quests from, everything we were shown, I think it’ll probably go something like this.At the beginning, the Traveler meets Danica, and Vesna and eventually earns an audience with the Tsaritsa.
This is probably where we finally learn why she has been collecting the Gnoses. She explains that she wants to use the Third Descender’s power to strengthen herself, and that all seven Gnoses are needed to unlock his final seal. But she still can’t do that because the Pyro Gnosis is missing. From there, the immediate problem becomes Ronova.Project Mistilteinn can’t continue while Ronova is stopping Snezhnaya’s technological development. So the nation prepares for a direct confrontation.Vesna offers the power connected to her Vila heritage. The Seals of Life become part of the strategy to defeat Ronova.Pierro reveals more about Khaenri’ah and possibly his history with Hroptatyr.Dainsleif joins the fight because he has just as much reason as Pierro to hate Ronova. Then the fight begins. And I think Ronova completely overwhelms everyone at first. We see almost the entire cast “dead” on the ground.Maybe the Seals of Life activate.Maybe everyone who was killed gets revived.
And for the first time, Ronova is forced to face a power that can directly challenge her authority. But that victory creates a new problem.Because now Snezhnaya is using the power of Life to cheat Death. And that is what draws Rhinedottir into the conflict. She shows up, realizes that something connected to her own power or Authority is being used, and she decides she is taking it back. Snezhnaya may eventually have to face all of the Shades, and after Ronova, Rhinedottir-Naberius seems like the most likely one to come next.Even though Snezhnaya is preparing for a direct fight against Ronova,I don’t know if they’re actually going to kill her. I think the real goal is to stop, her from interfering with Project Mistilteinn. Even though, they seem to WANT to kill her.A lot of the time in Genshin, characters win by figuring out how to get around the, rules. And since Ronova’s power seems to have very specific rules and limits,
I think Snezhnaya is more likely to break or work around those rules than permanently kill her.If they kill her, I hope Dainsleif deals the final blow.Ronova still has so much unanswered lore connected to Khaenri’ah, Paimon, and the Heavenly Principles. Virtually everything in the main lore. So my guess, is that they successfully defeat Ronova here, but they don’t actually kill the, Ruler of Death????
